Governor Adamu receives Inland Bank directors
Governor Abdullahi
Adamu has played host to Directors of Inland Bank Nig. Plc., who paid him a
visit in his office. Receiving the Directors who were led by the Chairman of the
bank, Governor Adamu praised the bank for its resilience in the face of a tough
market. He noted that the bank had been able to grow from a small bank to one of
the most dependable banking institutions in the country.
In the course of the visit, Governor Adamu pledged to support every effort of
the bank in establishing itself in the state. He said that the state was
encouraged by the confidence of the private sector in the prevailing business
environment. He therefore urged business firms and other conglomerates to open
branches in the state in order to provide a range of services for people of the
state.
Earlier, the
managing Director of the bank briefed the Governor on the operations of the
bank. He said the bank went public in 1998 and presently had about 20,000
shareholders. Nasarawa state according to the director was one of the major
shareholders of the bank and very soon will be receiving its dividends for the
year. He said the assets of the bank currently stood at N14 billion and the bank
has 26 branches across the country. In the course of the New Year, the bank will
be opening 10 more branches across the six geo-political zones in the country.
The visit by the bank management was led by the Chairman of the Board of
Directors, Admiral Hussaini Abdullahi and was attended by the state commissioner
of finance.
