The National Chairman of the All progressives Congress, Senator (Dr.) Abdullahi Adamu, CON (Turakin Keffi), has inaugurated the National Campaign Council for the Osun State Governorship elections holding on July 16, 2022.

Inaugurating the Council at the National Secretariat of the APC in Abuja, the Chairman urged them to do everything within the law to win the election. He said the election was crucial to the party as it is the last of two governorship elections which will hold before the national elections in 2023. He therefore urged them to ride on the victory at the Ekiti election to give the opposition a double defeat in the course of 8 weeks.

Chairman Adamu charged the council which is headed by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to meet the opposition Parties eye-ball for eye-ball and ensure that all loopholes that could lead to any failure were blocked. In his words, “this National Working Committee has zero tolerance for failure and will not expect the council to come back with anything but victory”.

Responding to the charge, the Chairman of the Campaign Council, represented by the Governor of Kano State, Umar Ganduje promised the National Working Committee of their commitment to work day and night to ensure victory at the polls. He promised the Chairman that this election will not be inconclusive as the last one because the council will make an assessment of the lapses encountered in the last one to prepare for this one.

As part of the strategies to win this election, Ganduje said behind the scenes moves were already on-going to reconcile all aggrieved members of the party in Osun State. He promised that the Council will definitely bring back a positive result to the party.

The 83-member council is made up of various Governors, Ministers, Senators and top members of the party.
