The National Chairman of the All Peoples’ Congress (APC) has called for a synergy between chairmen of ruling parties in Africa to enable them exchange notes on good governance and service to the people that elected them.

Chairman Adamu made the call when he received in audience the chairman of Burundi’s ruling party, the National Council for the Defense of Democracy – Forces for the Defense of Democracy (NCCD-FDD), Hon Reverien Ndikuriyo.

Adamu used the occasion of the visit to extol the patriotic virtues of the revolutionary forces of Burundi which actions were predicated on love for country. He noted that each country in Africa is presently beset with challenges of development and that meetings of this nature were important to compare notes on how to overcome these challenges and serve their communities better. He described the APC as a party in transition as it was preparing to go into a general election in 2023.

Speaking earlier, Mr. Ndikuriyo said the purpose of the visit was to discuss with his Nigerian counterpart how ruling parties can be a major plank of service delivery to the people. He said the party in Burundi was founded on the blood and sweat of the people and therefore fully committed to meeting the expectations of the people. Another reason for the visit was to forge partnerships between both parties in the area of business and diplomacy.

Mr. Ndikuriyo was accompanied on the visit by the Nigerian Ambassador to Burundi, H. E. Elijah Onyeagba and the President of the Nigeria-Burundi Business Council, Sir Paul Chukwuma.
