The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu has pledged to ensure a disciplined and united party, going into the 2023 general elections. He stated this while receiving a delegation of party stakeholders from Enugu state led by former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani.
The Chairman who commended the delegation for coming together and bringing the best of their stakeholders for the meeting stated that their opinions cannot be ignored in taking any decision concerning the issues assailing the party in Enugu State. He stated that he was not unfamiliar with the issues brought forward by the stakeholders having served as Chairman of the APC National Reconciliation Committee, but was pleased that all the parties and stakeholders in the State have now taken a common position on the issues.
Adamu stated that having listened to the delegation, the National Working Committee of the Party will follow due process in addressing the matter to the satisfaction of all. He therefore urged them to stay united while the process of addressing the issues of indiscipline in the state are being addressed.
Earlier, leader of the delegation, Senator Ken Nnamani stated that the delegation has come together to brief the National Chairman and National Working Committee of the activities of the State Chairman of the party, Chief Ogochuckwu Agbala who has decided to decapitate senior members of the party in Enugu state and rendered them irrelevant in the administration of party affairs. Nnamani stated that if something urgent was not done, the party was not likely to be able to make any significant inroads in the forthcoming election. It was to salvage the situation that the stakeholders had come together to request the NWC to call the state chairman to order.
In the Enugu state delegation were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema; Senator Ayogu Eze; Osita Okechuckwu and other stakeholders.
